Description

The Pickup Tailgate Hinged Flap is a practical safety accessory for pickup truck owners using a dog box in the load bed. It covers the gap between the tailgate and truck bed, helping stop dogs’ legs from slipping down or getting caught when they are entering and exiting the cage.

It is a simple but useful addition for regular dog transport, especially on working pickups where dogs are loaded and unloaded often. The hinged design allows the flap to move with the tailgate area while still giving a safer, more secure surface for your dog to step across.

The flap is supplied with fixing screws ready for installation. Fitting requires the truck bed or liner to be drilled, so please check your vehicle setup before installing.

Need help choosing the right dog cage?

Choosing the correct dog cage depends on your dog, your vehicle and how you plan to use it. Before ordering, we recommend checking your available boot or load space and comparing it against the cage dimensions listed on the product page.

Your dog should have enough room to sit, stand and travel comfortably, while the cage should still fit securely inside your vehicle. If you are unsure which size is right, or you need advice on vehicle fitment, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, we ship to all of the UK and Ireland, including remote areas like the Highlands and Scottish Islands. Please refer to our delivery information page for full details.

How do I know which dog cage will fit my vehicle?

Measure the maximum usable space in your boot, van or load area, then compare it against the cage size shown on the product page. Check the width, height and depth at the narrowest points, especially around wheel arches, sloped seats and tailgate openings.

How do I choose the right cage size for my dog?

Your dog should have enough room to stand, turn around and lie down comfortably. The cage should not be excessively large, as a closer fit gives better support during travel.

Do I need to secure the cage inside the vehicle?

A dog cage should sit securely in the vehicle and should not move during travel. Some setups may require fixing points, straps or a fitted layout depending on the vehicle and cage type.

Do you offer bespoke dog cages?

Yes. Bespoke cages are made to order for specific vehicles, layouts and dog requirements. Send your measurements and requirements for a quote.
